Event Management
Swanage Town Council is responsible for a large amount of public open space in Swanage. If you would like to use any of these public spaces for organised or commercial activity we require the following:
-
Swanage Town Council approval.
-
Completion of an Event Plan.
-
Completion of a Risk Assessment.
-
Appropriate Public Liability Insurance.
To make a request to hold an event on Town Council owned land, we employ a two-part process as follows:
Stage 1
Swanage Event Application - Request for Provisional Approval Form
This is the form to use if you are looking for Council approval for your request to use any of the sites we operate. This will be received by the Visitor Services Team who will arrange for Council consideration, and will respond back to you regarding the outcome. This form should be completed during your early planning stage for the event and enables you to ‘book’ the site.
Stage 2
Swanage Event Application - Documentation for Final Approval Form
This is the form to use if you already have provisional Council approval and the required documentation in place for your event. The Visitor Services Team will check that your documentation is satisfactory/complete and, if so, will provide formal confirmation that your event can take place.
Please note that we prefer to deal with requests for events during the winter season as we are very busy between May and October. However, we will deal with requests during this period, but would ask that you please follow up your Stage 1 form with an email to the Visitor Services Team at: welcome@swanage.gov.uk
Thank you.
The User Agreement Form can be found here, which is required as part of Stage 2.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Visitor Services Team at the Swanage Information Centre, who will be pleased to assist you.
We look forward to hearing from you.
