The Downs

Immediately behind Prince Albert Gardens are the Downs, a large area of grassland managed and maintained to a high standard by the Town Council.  From here you can start a scenic walk along the South West Coast Path to Durlston Castle and Country Park, one of the finest places for bird watching in the County. Dolphins and seals can also often be seen from the clifftop path.

One of the best ways to appreciate the spectacular scenery of the Jurassic Coast is on foot. The 95 miles from Old Harry Rocks to Exmouth make up part of the 630 mile long South West Coast Path National Trail, and there are hundreds of miles of connecting footpaths and bridleways along the way, giving a huge variety of possible circular walks, wherever you are on the coast.

The dramatic array of landscapes and seascapes support a huge diversity of wildlife and a wide range of human activities. For more information about Durlston Country Park please visit: www.durlston.co.uk
